Naim Audio Servicing
Having been Naim Audio users for the last 25 years, we understand the need to occasionally service Hi-Fi components to keep them sounding their best.
Outside of normal wear and tear, they are not immune to faults. The good news is that there are options which are designed and fitted by our in-house service engineer.
As always, it is dependent on the exact component and fault as some parts are simply no longer made, with no alternatives available but contact us first so we can diagnose and advise you correctly. See below for the upgrades menu.
Naim Audio Upgrades
We are seeing increasing numbers of component failures in many Olive and Black series Naim components. CD players are particularly prone to various failures and given the level of investment made into these players and lack of available parts, it makes sense to look at upgrades to continue your enjoyment and in many cases, enhance it.
Here is a brief menu of the upgrades available. Given the range and complexity of components available, contact us for anything you don’t see listed. All upgrades are performed on fully functioning components and any necessary repairs will be charged separately.
Pre-Amplifiers: NAC 12/22/ 32/32.5/42/42.5/52/62/72/82/92
Stage 1 - £200 (all models)
Service and clean all potentiometers and switches. Replace key components in signal path and power supplies with optimised parts.
Stage 2 - £350 (all models except NAC 92)
As Stage 1, but using even more premium parts. Replace some secondary components and key hard wiring
Stage 3 - £650 (NAC 52/62/72)
Ultimate upgrade of all key and secondary components and hard wiring using the very best components.
Other models and custom upgrades P.O.A.
Power Amplifiers: NAP 90/100/110/135s/140/160/180/200/250 (For monoblocs, price includes pair)
Stage 1 - £175 (all models)
Replace key components in signal pathways and power supplies with improved parts.
Stage 2 - £325 (all models)
As Stage 1, but with even more premium parts. Replace some secondary parts and upgrade hard wiring.
Stage 3 - £P.O.A. (all models)
Ultimate upgrade of all key and secondary components and hard wiring using the very best components. This stage is P.O.A. because the scope of what can be done varies between models.
Power Supplies: Hi-Cap/Flat-Cap/SNAPS (All models)
Stage 1 - £100
Rewire Audio path loop throughs with premium wire. Fit additional HF bypass capacitors.
Stage 2 - £P.O.A.
As Stage 1, plus replace Key components with premium parts. Price will vary between models and scope of upgrade.
CD Players: CDi/CDX/CDS etc.
Stage 1 - £150 (all models)
Replace key components in power supplies, DAC buffer and output stages.
Stage 2 - £300 (only available on some models)
As stage 1 plus relocked module.
Stage 3 - £575
As stage 2 using even more premium components and replacement of some secondary components too.
Stage 4 - £P.O.A.
The ultimate upgrade for your component.
DAC Replacement - £400
This is a common failure mode on the CDX where you will lose one channel. Our premium DAC module is custom fitted inside your player and by optimising existing power supplies, gives the same effect as using an expensive external DAC while keeping everything fully optimised and in one box.
