Ortofon MC Windfield TI
Ortofon MC Verismo
Ortofon MC Diamond
The MC Windfeld Ti is a moving coil (MC) phono cartridge built into a new and improved cartridge body.
Sharing obvious similarities with the high-end Cadenza Series, the central band of the MC Windfeld Ti body is made using a revolutionary Selective Laser Melting (SLM) manufacturing technology, also used by Ortofon on the flagship MC Anna cartridge. The technology uses Titanium to increase the overall rigidity of the cartridge body, eliminating unwanted vibrations within the cartridge and increasing the dynamic capability.
Inside the MC Windfeld Ti, Ortofon employ a series of advanced technologies – many developed entirely in-house – to deliver a true high-end performance.
Like the flagship MC Anna cartridge, the MC Windfeld Ti makes use of “the finest diamond in the world”. The Ortofon Replicant 100 boasts a thin and light profile with an impressively long vertical contact surface, making it as close as possible to an original record cutting stylus.
By specially polishing the stylus and then mounting it onto a boron cantilever, the cartridge can offer remarkable transparency, speed, and responsiveness beyond that of any other combination.
An additional Field-Stabilizing Element (FSE) is also placed inside the system to prevent the magnetic field from fluctuating, which allows for improved channel separation, zero transmission loss and greater sound-staging with more space between the performers.
The cantilever also passes through a suspension system aided by Ortofon’s Wide Range Damping (WRD) system, in which a small, heavy platinum disc is sandwiched between two rubber absorbers with different properties for exceptional tracking performance and perfect damping throughout the frequency range. The result is a distortion-free performance with an exceptionally linear frequency response.
Thanks to these advanced properties, the MC Windfeld Ti is a cartridge that delivers a lifelike, dynamic and open sound with exceedingly clear midrange. Yet even though it retrieves the finest micro-dynamic details, the whole performance is delivered in a delicate, extremely musical tone.
Installation is made easy thanks to the clear markings on the cartridge rear, and the body’s unique shape on the top panel creates a rigid, three-point contact with the tonearm for perfect mechanical integration.
When connected into the right system, the MC Windfeld Ti will sing like nothing you’ve heard before for the price, with a level of detail and musicality that will make for many happy hours of vinyl playback.
The MC Verismo is a class-leading, high-end moving coil (MC) cartridge, drawing inspiration and technologies from others in Ortofon’s flagship Exclusive Series.
With its advanced diamond cantilever, Replicant 100 diamond stylus and titanium housing, amongst other advanced elements, the MC Verismo can deliver a truly outstanding sonic output.
As an Exclusive Series cartridge, it is also hand-made by seasoned artisans in Ortofon’s Danish production facility.
In opera, verismo (Italian for '"realism"') was a post-Romantic tradition associated with a variety of reputed Italian composers. The MC Verismo aims to portray the same sense of “realism” associated with the genre, and does so thanks to Ortofon’s advanced knowledge of vibrations, and how to control them.
Every aspect of the design is aimed to allow for accurate musical reproduction, without any unwanted facets.
The MC Diamond model represents the highest echelon of moving coil cartridges.
As its name suggests, the MC Diamond takes the original design but uses a Diamond cantilever that, in combination with the Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond stylus, offers unrivalled transparency, speed and responsiveness in its information retrieval.
This state-of-the-art product, representative of numerous Ortofon design elements and ideas, is truly exemplary of the highest degree of performance possible in contemporary analogue playback technology.
The MC Diamond focuses on providing music in its entirety without compromise, offering an ideal balance of precision and musicality with fine attention to both micro and macro dynamics combined with fluid tonality and texture.
It is also made to be relatively easy to partner with a wide-range of tonearms and turntables. With an output impedance of 6Ω and a low-to-medium output voltage of 0.2mV, the MC Diamond is easy to partner with most phono pre-amps and step-up transformers – including Ortofon’s own ST-80 SE model. It’s also an ideal match for high-mass, high-precision tonearms with gimbal bearing systems.
Its stereo imaging capabilities illuminate the farthest corners of the soundstage in all three dimensions, creating an uncompromising, involving performance.
