Today, many amplifiers do not have a specific phono cartridge input. Phono Box is an ideal phono preamplifier for these systems and accepts both MM and MC cartridges. The analogue output of Phono Box can easily be connected to a line-input of your amplifier.

Project Phonobox S2
Successor to the multi-award winning Phono Box S, the Phono Box S2 features incredible micro-details, dynamics and precision with a soundstage usually found in much more expensive products.
The new S2 style housing is made of an aluminium/metal sandwich construction and not only offers highest aesthetics but also out-standingly protects it from unwanted electromagnetic interferences and vibrations. This guarantees for an undisturbed listening experience without worries. The switches on the bottom of the unit allow fine tuning the sound to your preferences and adjusting Phono Box S2 to any available cartridge!

Project Phonobox S2 Ultra
A favourite here at Liquid Audio, the Phono Box S2 Ultra is like no other phono preamplifier in its segment.
The incredible success of our Phono Box Ultra 500, incited us to introduce this marvelously sounding phono preamp into our regular S2 line. The solid metal casing protects against interference and the internal design remains as spectacular as before.
We are offering a fully discrete, OpAmp less design, which enabled us to realize an incredibly harmonious sound. On top of leaving out operational amplifiers we decided to use polystyrene capacitors, which significantly contribute to the high end sound of the Phono Box S2 Ultra.
These capacitors are known amongst audiophiles as the holy grail for phono preamplifiers. The split RIAA equalization enables a pin-point accurate representation of the RIAA curve, a luxury many other phono preamps do not possess.

Project Phonobox S3 B
The Phono Box S3 B is an entry-level phono preamplifier that offers a fully balanced design in a neat, small package. We’ve packed this tiny chassis to the brim with high-end features. One of those is our new True Balanced Connection. At Pro-Ject, balanced connections were exclusive to our RS range of products until now. The Phono Box S3 B brings those features to an incredible new entry level.
The gain stage uses a fully discrete layout. A discrete circuit is composed of disparate electronic components, and individual devices. The amplifier section is built of single parts and doesn‘t use any integrated circuits! That makes for an extended and more costly design process but results in the best sound quality. The fully symmetrical gain stage can optimize the signal-to-noise ratios, feeding the semi-passive, RIAA equalisation stage with a clean signal to work on.
The symmetrical design is the fundamental standout feature. Connect your turntable via the 5-pin mini XLR cable and enjoy the benefits of a balanced signal path. A truly balanced gain stage can extract the final musical information, effectively filtering out any noise from interferences stemming from our noisy, modern homes (household appliances, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, power cables, audio amplifiers).
Project Tubebox S2
Tube Box S2 is our very first product to feature a fully discreet circuit design without using any operational amplifiers (OpAmps). It also is the first product to come with replaceable tubes for tube rolling and sound-shaping. This gives the customers many options to pick from and alter the sound signature to their preferences.
Tube Box S2 will give a full and relaxed laid back sound with lush mids, just like you would expect it from a much bigger, high-end tube phono pre-amplifier. It offers support for both MM and MC cartridges and comes with many gain settings to be switched on the front panel.
Five variable input impedance settings are available to adjust to any MM cartridge, the 47k ohm input impedance setting is fixed and suited for high output MC cartridges. The aluminium/metal casing is adapted to our DS2 line in looks and protects against vibrations and electromagnetic interferences for superior sound.

At Pro-Ject, balanced connections were exclusive to our RS range of products until now. The Phono Box DS3 B model offers some of the high-end features of the Phono Box RS2 at an affordable price and trusted Pro-Ject quality. One of those is our new True Balanced Connection.
The Phono Box DS3 B incorporates a true, fully balanced gain stage design. Whether you're using a single-ended RCA or balanced connection, both times the fully symmetrical gain stage can optimize the signal-to-noise ratios, feeding the fully passive and discrete RIAA equalization stage with the cleanest signal to work its magic on. Entirely split passive equalization allows for better impedance matching and lower deviation from the ideal RIAA curve.
The Phono Box DS3 B uses fully discrete audio circuitry. A discrete circuit is composed of disparate, individual electronic components, also called discrete components. Years of experience have proven that even the best Op-Amps do not come close to the neutral, natural, dynamic, and vivid presentation of a discrete circuit.
Project Tubebox DS3 B
The Tube Boxes have been an integral part of our product portfolio for many years. Now, the new Tube Box DS3 B adds balanced in- and outputs to the beloved tube amplification. This precision tube phono preamplifier benefits from outstanding circuit technology from Dr. Sykora and uses ultimate components.
You can connect two turntables at the same time & easily set everything on the front plate. Each input settings are stored in the memory. Large ranges from 40dB up to 65dB are possible. You can perfectly match it with a wide variety of cartridges and integrate it into the rest of your Hifi system, matching the volume levels accurately to other sources like CD players or streaming devices.
Load impedance can be set continuously via potentiometer, a system invented by Pro-Ject Audio Systems. It allows you to seamlessly adjust the impedance during playback and immediately assess the impact of different loading options. This is necessary to find just the right load impedance for your cartridge. No other manufacturers implement this feature in this extreme way.
